iFly Singapore – Indoor Skydiving in Singapore Sentosa

I have always wanted to try skydiving but never got the chance to. I recently learnt that there is actually a place in Sentosa where I can do indoor skydiving called iFly Singapore.

Even though indoor skydiving may not be as fun as the outdoor version, but at least I will get a taste of how it’s going to be like. I decided to try indoor skydiving at iFly Singapore.

iFly Singapore’s Location

新加坡 iFly Singapore 1iFly Singapore is conveniently located right next to Beach Station in Sentosa. The fastest way is to take the Sentosa Express monorail from VivoCity, alight at Beach Station and walk 5 minutes. You can also choose to walk over, take a bus or taxi.

iFly Singapore Tickets

I was able to get walk-in tickets because I was there on a weekday and someone just cancelled their appointment.

To avoid disappointment and long waiting time, I recommend that you buy your tickets on the iFly Singapore website and secure your time slot.

The ticket is cheaper if you book your ticket online 1 day in advance. You can also utilize your SingapoRediscovers voucher to pay for iFly Singapore.

What to Wear for iFly Singapore Skydiving

  • Wear comfortable clothes. You are advised to wear a shirt with no collar as it may flap around your neck.
  • Wear well-fitted laced-up sneakers with non marking soles. You can rent a pair if you do not have them.
  • Leave your jewelry and valuables at home as all such items must be removed before gearing up.
  • Ladies with long hair are advised to tie up to minimize messy knotty hair.

Getting Ready for My iFly Experience

I arrived 1 hour prior to my flight time as instructed.

After filling out the indemnity form and making sure that I meet the flight criteria, the staff put a blue paper bracelet on my wrist.

I entered the Departure zone by scanning the QR code on my blue bracelet and waited in front of the Hangar until a staff signaled me to follow her.

Behind the Hangar is a small screening room which shows the introduction video featuring Singapore actor Desmond Tan. When the video ended, my instructor Joshua Tay came into the room and showed me the hand signals he will use during the skydive and their corresponding actions.

After making sure I remembered all the signals and their corresponding actions, the instructor brought me to gear up for my flight. He gave me a zip-up flight suit to wear over my clothes, shoes, helmet and goggles.

My iFly Singapore Experience

The wind tunnel measures 56.5 feet tall and 16.5 feet wide with 18 feet tall acrylic glass wall, almost five storeys high. It can accommodate up to 20 professional flyers at any one time.

Standing at the entrance to the wind tunnel, I can feel the strong wind from the huge wind turbines below. Following the instructor’s instructions, I crossed my arms over my chest and leaned forward. The instructor gave a slight pull and I was floating in the wind tunnel. Following the instructor’s hand signals, I learned the basic flying position. Even thought I kept bumping into the acrylic glass wall, I learned how to push myself away from the wall. My instructor Joshua Tay also helped me turn both left and right 360 degrees.

I was just planning to try out the iFly once but it was so fun that I decided to go for a return flight. You can purchase return flight at cheaper rate right after your first flight.

新加坡 iFly Singapore 8Knowing what to expect made the second flight even more fun. You will usually go up to 2-3 meters on the first flight, my instructor held on to me as we went up to 7-8 meters on the second flight which was even more exhilarating.

Having a trained instructor to hold onto me and guide me makes me feel very safe unlike AJ Hackett Bungy

After my flights, I watched in awe as more experienced skydivers performed difficult maneuvers.
